The Costs Of Home Care & Other Types Of Care

There are not many people who want to turn over a loved one to institutional care. Regardless of how good is the nursing home, it seems cold and impersonal — and very expensive. Here at Avant Care, we are well versed in all forms of Elderly Care, from in-home Care to personal care homes.

We treat our clients as individuals. People with their own needs. And one type of care plan is not suited for everyone.

Very few agencies publish their rates, they are concerned their competition will under cut their rates. Our caregivers are all W2 employees, most agencies only use contractors. Our cost are higher than most agencies, but so is the level of service. Our caregivers receive hourly bonuses, spot bonuses, liability insurance, workers compensation insurance, and additional benefits and insurance. They are looked after, valued, motivated and paid above average.

We know that to receive good service you need to pay the care givers decently.

We are generally about the same as the national brands, with a much higher level of service. Four to Twelve hour shifts are about $22 - $25 per hour, 24 hour live in care averages less than $12 per hour. Holidays (New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, 4th July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve) are charged at 1.5 times standard rate. There are no management fees and no call out charge. If the caregivers uses their own car during a shift for the client, there is mileage charge at the standard IRS rate of $0.58 per mile. Shorter shifts or complex care situations will require a small up charge to the standard pricing.
